More than $40,000 was contributed to Kroger’s 2014 Can Hunger campaign between the Krogers in Gainesville and Dawsonville, with another $2,500 going to the Georgia Mountain Food Bank.
The campaign was Nov. 16-Dec. 24 and allowed customers to purchase $1, $3 and $5 icons to benefit Feeding America food banks. A companywide promotion, Bringing Hope to the Table, also featured popular products at special sales prices, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the local food bank.
“The overwhelming amount of donations raised during this year’s Can Hunger initiative is a testament to the character and generosity of our Gainesville- and Dawsonville-area customers and associates,” says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “Kroger is incredibly grateful for their donations and support as we work to help provide food for those who are less fortunate.”
The Atlanta division overall raised more than $568,600 through Can Hunger and more than $191,500 through Bringing Hope to the Table.
